Our client is a prominent Oil & Gas company operating in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. They are dedicated to maintaining high standards of engineering excellence and operational efficiency. They are looking for a motivated and skilled Mechanical Engineer to contribute to their ongoing projects.
Job Summary:
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for applying mechanical engineering principles to support the design, maintenance, and optimization of equipment and systems within the Oil & Gas facility in Riyadh. This mid-level engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of mechanical assets and contributing to project success. Effective communication in both English and Arabic is essential for collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Mechanical System Design & Analysis:
- Assist in the design and analysis of mechanical systems and equipment, including pumps, compressors, pipelines, and heat exchangers.
- Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and calculations.
- Conduct basic stress, vibration, and fluid flow analyses under supervision.
- Assist in the selection and evaluation of mechanical components and materials.
- Contribute to the development and review of technical documentation.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Perform and supervise routine and preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults and malfunctions effectively.
- Develop and implement maintenance procedures and schedules.
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of mechanical systems.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
- Equipment Integrity & Reliability:
- Assist in equipment integrity assessments and reliability studies.
- Support the implementation and management of equipment integrity programs.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of risk-based inspection plans.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (API, ASME, etc.).
- Project Support:
- Provide technical support for mechanical engineering projects.
- Assist in the development of project scopes and budgets.
- Coordinate with contractors and suppliers under supervision.
- Monitor project progress and assist in resolving technical issues.
- Prepare project reports and documentation.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Participate in safety audits and inspections.
- Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures.
- Provide training and guidance on mechanical safety.
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with operations teams, maintenance personnel, and management in both Arabic and English.
- Collaborate with other engineers and technicians.
- Provide technical support and guidance.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems and equipment used in the Oil & Gas sector.
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ANSYS) is preferred.
- Understanding of industry standards and regulations (API, ASME).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both English and Arabic.
Essential Skills:
- Bilingual Proficiency: Fluent in both Arabic and English (written and spoken).
- Mechanical Engineering Fundamentals: Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles applied to the Oil & Gas industry.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Ability to perform and supervise maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Equipment Integrity: Basic understanding of equipment integrity and reliability principles.
- Project Support: Ability to contribute to mechanical projects under supervision.
- Safety & Compliance: Understanding of safety regulations and standards within the Oil & Gas sector.
- Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines).
- Experience with pipeline design and analysis.
- Experience with heat transfer and thermodynamics.
- Familiarity with risk-based inspection (RBI).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., API certifications).
