They are seeking a highly experienced Lead Civil Engineer to provide technical leadership and drive their civil engineering projects.
Job Summary:
The Lead Civil Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects within the context of smart city development. This individual will provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, sustainable infrastructure solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of civil engineering principles, extensive experience in the Saudi Arabian construction sector, and excellent communication skills in both English and Arabic.
Responsibilities:
- Civil Engineering Design & Planning (Smart City Context):
- Lead the design and planning of civil infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, utilities, and drainage systems, within smart city development frameworks.
- Develop and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies, integrating smart city technologies and sustainability considerations.
- Ensure designs comply with local regulations (Saudi Building Code, etc.) and international standards.
- Develop sustainable and resilient infrastructure solutions.
- Project Management & Execution:
- Manage and oversee civil engineering projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
- Conduct site inspections and monitor construction progress, ensuring quality and safety.
- Resolve technical issues and provide on-site support.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures.
- Technical Leadership & Mentorship:
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the civil engineering team.
- Mentor and train junior engineers.
- Lead code reviews and ensure code quality.
- Contribute to architectural design and technical decision-making.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools.
- Smart City Infrastructure Integration:
- Integrate smart city technologies into civil infrastructure projects, including sensor networks, data collection systems, and intelligent transportation systems.
- Collaborate with other disciplines (electrical, mechanical, IT) to ensure seamless project integration.
- Develop and implement strategies for sustainable infrastructure development, considering environmental impact and resource efficiency.
- Technical Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations.
- Document project designs, calculations, and specifications.
- Maintain accurate project records and data.
- Develop and maintain databases of civil engineering data.
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams in both Arabic and English.
- Collaborate with other engineers, urban planners, and environmental scientists.
- Provide technical training and support.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience as a Civil Engineer, with a focus on infrastructure projects.
- Extensive experience in the Saudi Arabian construction sector.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering design and construction practices.
- Proficiency in relevant software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, etc.).
- Understanding of local regulations (Saudi Building Code, etc.) and international standards.
- Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills in both English and Arabic.
Essential Skills:
- Bilingual Proficiency: Fluent in both Arabic and English (written and spoken).
- Technical Leadership: Proven ability to lead and mentor civil engineering teams.
- Civil Engineering Expertise: Deep understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.
