About the Client:
Our client is a leading organization in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, dedicated to the development and implementation of innovative Smart City infrastructure and solutions. They are committed to leveraging Building Information Modelling (BIM) to enhance project efficiency, collaboration, and sustainability. They are seeking a highly experienced Senior BIM Engineer to contribute to their transformative smart city projects.
Job Summary:
The Senior BIM Engineer will be responsible for the development, implementation, and management of BIM workflows and strategies within the context of Smart City projects. This individual will provide technical leadership, mentor junior BIM specialists, and ensure the seamless integration of BIM technologies with project delivery. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of BIM principles, extensive experience in large-scale infrastructure or smart city projects, and excellent communication skills in both English and Arabic.
Responsibilities:
- BIM Strategy & Implementation (Smart City Focus):
- Develop and implement a comprehensive BIM strategy tailored for Smart City infrastructure projects.
- Establish and maintain BIM standards, protocols, and workflows, specifically aligned with smart city data requirements.
- Lead the adoption and implementation of BIM technologies across all project phases, emphasizing data integration and interoperability.
- Evaluate and recommend new BIM software and hardware relevant to smart city applications.
- Ensure compliance with local and international BIM standards, including those related to infrastructure and urban planning.
- BIM Project Management (Smart City Context):
- Oversee the development and management of BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) for smart city projects.
- Coordinate BIM activities and deliverables across multi-disciplinary project teams, including civil, electrical, mechanical, and IT specialists.
- Manage BIM resources and budgets, specifically for large-scale infrastructure and data-rich projects.
- Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to BIM requirements, including data integration and analysis.
- Resolve BIM-related issues and conflicts, particularly those related to data interoperability and system integration.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship:
- Lead and mentor a team of BIM specialists, providing technical guidance and support.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback on BIM workflows and data management.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and best practices.
- Develop and deliver BIM training programs tailored to smart city project requirements.
- BIM Coordination & Collaboration (Smart City Focus):
- Facilitate BIM coordination meetings and clash detection sessions, focusing on infrastructure integration and data consistency.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, IT specialists, and urban planners to ensure seamless data exchange.
- Ensure seamless integration of BIM data with other smart city systems, such as GIS, IoT platforms, and data analytics tools.
- Develop and maintain BIM collaboration platforms that support data sharing and interoperability.
- Promote BIM collaboration and knowledge sharing within the context of smart city development.
- BIM Quality Control & Assurance (Smart City Data):
- Develop and implement BIM quality control procedures, focusing on data accuracy and consistency for smart city applications.
- Conduct BIM model reviews and audits, specifically for infrastructure and data-rich projects.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of BIM data, including spatial data and asset information.
- Develop and maintain BIM libraries and content relevant to smart city infrastructure.
- Implement BIM data management and security protocols, including data privacy and access control.
- Research & Development (Smart City Technologies):
- Stay up to date with the latest BIM technologies and trends, particularly those relevant to smart city applications.
- Research and evaluate new BIM applications and workflows related to data integration, analysis, and visualization.
- Contribute to the development of BIM best practices for smart city projects.
- Participate in industry forums and conferences related to smart city technologies and BIM.
- Communication & Reporting:
- Communicate effectively with project teams, management, and clients in both Arabic and English.
- Prepare and present BIM progress reports and presentations, focusing on data integration and project outcomes.
- Document BIM processes and procedures, including data management and interoperability protocols.
- Provide technical support and guidance on BIM-related issues, particularly those related to data integration and system implementation.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in the construction or infrastructure industry, with a focus on BIM.
- Extensive experience in managing and implementing BIM projects, preferably within smart city or large-scale infrastructure contexts.
- Strong knowledge of BIM software (Revit, Navisworks, etc.) and data management tools.
- Understanding of BIM standards and protocols (ISO 19650, etc.), including those related to data interoperability.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor BIM teams.
- Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills in both English and Arabic.
Essential Skills:
- Bilingual Proficiency: Fluent in both Arabic and English (written and spoken).
- BIM Expertise (Smart City): Deep understanding of BIM principles, technologies, and workflows, specifically applied to smart city applications.
