Job Summary:
The Water Resources Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and implementing water resource management projects, including water supply, wastewater treatment, and flood control. This individual will conduct hydrological and hydraulic modelling, perform water quality assessments, and develop sustainable water management strategies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of water resources engineering principles, experience with relevant software, and excellent communication skills in English.
Responsibilities:
- Water Resource Planning & Design:
- Conduct hydrological and hydraulic modelling for water resource projects.
- Design water supply and distribution systems.
- Develop wastewater treatment and reuse strategies.
- Design flood control and drainage systems.
- Perform water quality assessments and develop remediation plans.
- Hydrological & Hydraulic Modelling:
- Utilize hydrological and hydraulic modelling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, SWMM, MIKE 11) for water resource analysis.
- Develop and calibrate hydrological and hydraulic models.
- Analyze rainfall runoff, flood routing, and water distribution.
- Assess the impact of climate change on water resources.
- Water Quality Assessment & Management:
- Conduct water quality sampling and analysis.
- Develop water quality management plans.
- Assess the impact of pollution on water resources.
- Design and implement water treatment processes.
- Project Management & Execution:
- Manage and oversee water resource projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
- Conduct site inspections and monitor construction progress.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and international standards.
- Technical Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations.
- Document project designs, calculations, and specifications.
- Maintain accurate project records and data.
- Develop and maintain databases of water resource data.
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams in English.
- Collaborate with other engineers and environmental scientists.
- Provide technical training and support.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field with a focus on Water Resources.
- 5+ years of experience as a Water Resources Engineer.
- Strong knowledge of hydrological and hydraulic principles.
- Proficiency in hydrological and hydraulic modelling software (HEC-RAS, SWMM, MIKE 11).
- Experience with water quality assessment and management.
- Understanding of local regulations and international standards for water resources.
- Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills in English.
Essential Skills:
