The Opportunity
A major European player in the engineering and design sector is looking to appoint a Senior Project Lead for its Zurich-based structural division. The firm manages a high-profile portfolio that spans the entire built environment - from complex urban building projects and industrial facilities to critical energy infrastructure and railway systems. Their reputation is built on delivering high-stakes solutions for both private developers and Swiss public authorities (Federal, Cantonal, and Municipal).
The Role
This position is designed for an engineer who excels at managing the technical and commercial lifecycle of large-scale projects. You will be responsible for translating architectural visions into feasible structural realities while navigating complex geotechnical environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Governance: Lead the full lifecycle of new construction and renovation mandates, ensuring strict adherence to Swiss standards for quality, cost, and scheduling.
- Structural Strategy: Develop sophisticated load-bearing concepts in reinforced concrete, steel, and timber, coordinating with multidisciplinary internal teams.
- Geotechnical Management: Oversee the technical planning for excavation pits, foundation engineering, and soil stabilization.
- Leadership & Growth: Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, providing the "red thread" of technical guidance throughout the project.
- Client Relations: Act as a strategic partner to existing clients and support the department head in the acquisition of new, high-value mandates.
Your Professional Profile
- Academic Background: Degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s or Diploma) from an institution such as ETH, FH, or TU.
- Technical Mastery: In-depth expertise in structural statics and the mechanics of solid, steel, and timber construction.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced experience with FEM tools such as AxisVM, CUBUS, or SOFiSTiK.
- Project Record: Several years of successful project management in Switzerland, covering all phases from initial design to site commissioning.
- Innovation Focus: A strong drive toward digital construction, with practical experience in BIM (Building Information Modelling) and 3D coordination.
- Communication: Native-level or professional fluency in German is essential for stakeholder management.
Benefits & Career Development
- Modern Workflow: Utilize state-of-the-art tools, including BIM2Field, within a digitally integrated project environment.
- Interdisciplinary Reach: Work alongside a vast network of specialists in energy, environment, and infrastructure, allowing for unique professional cross-pollination.
- Flexible Culture: Benefit from a results-oriented work culture that offers modern office infrastructure and robust work-from-home options.
- Promotion Pathways: Transparent career paths that allow for advancement into senior technical expert roles or executive line management.
- Impact: The opportunity to shape the urban and industrial landscape of the Zurich region.
