The Opportunity
Our client is a premier engineering consultancy at the forefront of modernizing Switzerland’s transportation network. They specialize in the design and implementation of sophisticated Operational and Safety Equipment (OSE) for large-scale civil engineering works. Currently, the team is spearheading a landmark tunnel renovation project in the Glarus region, and they are seeking a technical leader to oversee the local execution of critical electrical systems.
The Role
In this position, the successful candidate will bridge the gap between technical planning and on-site implementation. They will be responsible for ensuring that safety-critical electrical infrastructure is installed to the highest standards of efficiency and sustainability.
Core Responsibilities:
- Site Leadership: Act as the primary on-site technical lead or specialist manager for complex electrical and safety installations.
- Project Lifecycle Management: Oversee the preparation phases, including scheduling, budget planning, and the development of tender documents.
- Contractor Coordination: Supervise and synchronize the activities of various subcontractors to ensure seamless integration on the construction site.
- Technical Quality Control: Manage the organization and execution of system acceptance tests and provide oversight during the warranty phase.
- Safety Inspections: Conduct rigorous inspections of existing and new infrastructure to ensure operational compliance.
Profile Requirements
- Technical Foundation: Completed apprenticeship (EFZ) in electrical installation, automation, or network electrical systems.
- Advanced Training: A degree (HF or FH) in Electrical or Energy Engineering, or a willingness to pursue this further qualification.
- Industry Experience: Several years of professional practice, ideally within the specialized field of tunnel safety or highway infrastructure.
- Operational Skills: High proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and digital collaboration tools.
- Personal Attributes: A structured, independent work style with a commitment to team collaboration and clear communication.
- Languages & Mobility: Professional-level German and a valid Category B driving license.
Why Join This Firm?
- High-Stakes Projects: The chance to work in unique environments, such as major tunnel systems and motorway junctions, on projects of national importance.
- Professional Development: Access to a specialized internal training centre focused on infrastructure technology and leadership skills.
- Career Evolution: A clear trajectory toward roles such as Chief Site Manager or Senior Project Engineer.
- Modern Environment: A fully digitalized construction office and a culture that values personal responsibility and flexible working arrangements.
- Autonomy: A workplace that offers significant creative space for your ideas within a supportive, multidisciplinary team.
