About the Client:
Our client is a dynamic and rapidly growing E-Commerce startup in Dubai, focused on revolutionizing the online shopping experience within the region. They are seeking a visionary and experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead their technology strategy and drive innovation.
Job Summary:
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will be responsible for defining and executing the company's technology vision, strategy, and roadmap. This individual will lead the development and implementation of scalable and secure e-commerce platforms, ensuring a seamless and engaging customer experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of e-commerce technologies, proven leadership skills, and a passion for building innovative solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Technology Strategy & Vision:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with the company's business objectives.
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and trends relevant to the e-commerce industry.
- Define and maintain the company's technology roadmap.
- Ensure the scalability, security, and reliability of the e-commerce platform.
- Team Leadership & Management:
- Build and lead a high-performing technology team, including software developers, engineers, and QA professionals.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor and develop team members, providing technical guidance and support.
- Manage and optimize the technology budget.
- E-Commerce Platform Development:
- Oversee the development and maintenance of the e-commerce platform, including front-end, back-end, and mobile applications.
- Ensure the platform is optimized for performance, user experience, and search engine optimization (SEO).
- Implement and manage payment gateways, inventory management systems, and other e-commerce integrations.
- Ensure the platform is compliant with relevant data privacy and security regulations.
- Data & Analytics:
- Develop and implement data analytics strategies to optimize business performance.
- Leverage data to improve customer experience, personalize recommendations, and drive sales.
- Implement and manage data warehousing and business intelligence tools.
- Ensure data security and integrity.
- Vendor & Partner Management:
- Evaluate and manage relationships with technology vendors and partners.
- Negotiate contracts and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and best practices.
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with executive leadership, investors, and other stakeholders.
- Present technical information clearly and concisely.
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, and operations teams to ensure alignment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3+ years in a senior leadership role (CTO, Tech Lead, or Engineering Manager).
- Proven experience in building and scaling e-commerce platforms.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing, microservices architecture, and DevOps practices.
- Experience with front-end and back-end development technologies (e.g., React, Node.js, Python, Java).
- Experience with database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
