About the Client:
Our client is a leading Civil Engineering Construction company in Dubai, specializing in the delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects. The company is committed to excellence, safety, and timely project completion. They are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Construction Manager to oversee and manage their civil engineering construction projects.
Job Summary:
The Construction Manager will be responsible for the overall planning, execution, and management of civil engineering construction projects in Dubai. This individual will leverage their extensive experience to ensure projects are delivered safely, within budget, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of civil engineering construction principles, extensive experience in the UAE construction industry, and excellent communication skills in English.
Responsibilities:
- Project Management & Planning:
- Lead and manage all aspects of civil engineering construction projects, from initial planning to final handover.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources.
- Oversee the preparation of detailed construction plans, specifications, and method statements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and safety requirements.
- Manage and mitigate project risks.
- Site Management & Supervision:
- Supervise and coordinate the work of subcontractors, engineers, and site personnel.
- Ensure that all construction activities are carried out in accordance with approved plans and specifications.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures.
- Resolve technical issues and provide on-site solutions.
- Contract Management & Administration:
- Manage and administer construction contracts.
- Monitor and control project costs and variations.
- Prepare and submit progress reports and payment applications.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Ensure that all documentation is completed to the required standards.
- Resource Management:
- Manage and allocate construction equipment, materials, and labour resources.
- Optimize resource utilization and minimize waste.
- Ensure that all resources are used efficiently and effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of all resource usage.
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams in English.
- Prepare and present project progress reports and presentations.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders.
- Maintain detailed records of all project-related activities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- 10+ years of proven experience in managing civil engineering construction projects in the UAE.
- Extensive knowledge of civil engineering construction materials, techniques, and equipment.
- Strong understanding of local regulations and international standards related to construction.
- Proficiency in project management software and relevant engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Valid UAE Driving License.
- Valid UAE Society of Engineers membership.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Essential Skills:
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of civil engineering construction principles and practices.
- Project Management: Proven ability to manage complex civil engineering construction projects.
- Site Management: Strong experience in managing and supervising construction sites.
