The Opportunity

Our client is a major European engineering group recognized for its pivotal role in developing Switzerland’s transport backbone. Their infrastructure division specializes in high-stakes mandates for national road networks, guiding projects from the first feasibility study to final inauguration. They are currently looking for a strategic leader to spearhead national road construction projects across German-speaking Switzerland.

The Role

This position is designed for an experienced engineer who thrives on the complexity of large-scale public infrastructure. You will act as the technical and strategic "anchor" for multidisciplinary teams, ensuring that Switzerland’s highways remain safe, efficient, and sustainable.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Project Governance: Execute and oversee demanding national highway projects throughout the DACH-region (focused on German-speaking Switzerland).
  • Interdisciplinary Leadership: Direct and synchronize teams of specialists, including geotechnics, environmental engineers, and structural planners.
  • National Knowledge Exchange: Collaborate with a country-wide network of experts to implement state-of-the-art sustainable engineering solutions.
  • Talent Coaching: Mentor and develop the next generation of engineers through active coaching and structured project involvement.
  • Client Portfolio Management: Manage and expand relationships with public sector entities and federal authorities, including the acquisition of new high-value mandates.

Your Professional Background

  • Academic: A degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s or equivalent).
  • Expertise: Substantial experience in the planning and management of high-level road construction projects within the Swiss regulatory framework.
  • Leadership: A proven track record of coordinating multidisciplinary teams and navigating complex project processes according to Swiss standards.
  • Linguistic: Excellent German skills (both written and spoken) are essential for this role, as you will be the primary point of contact for public authorities.

Benefits & Professional Growth

  • Premier Mandates: Direct involvement in "Nationwide" infrastructure projects that are essential to the Swiss economy.
  • Digital Excellence: Practical application and advancement of BIM (Building Information Modelling) within the infrastructure sector.
  • Sector Influence: Play a leading role in the strategic expansion of the firm’s national road construction business unit.
  • Individual Development: A culture that supports personalized career paths, providing resources for further education based on your specific professional interests.
  • Collaborative Environment: Join a stable, competent team of engineers who prioritize technical excellence and mutual support.
