Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Power Engineer to manage and optimize all energy supply, distribution, and consumption systems for our manufacturing client in Umm Al Quwain, UAE. This critical role ensures the stable, efficient, and compliant operation of all power-generating and power-consuming installations, playing a key part in the company's operational continuity and cost management.
Key Responsibilities
Energy Planning and Resource Management
- Develop and implement plans for the production and consumption of all energy types, including electricity, steam, gas, water, and compressed air.
- Create and manage repair schedules for power equipment and power grids, ensuring adherence to the Unified System of Preventive Maintenance.
- Determine and monitor consumption rates and modes for all energy resources to optimize usage and reduce costs.
- Prepare applications and necessary calculations for the procurement of energy equipment, materials, and spare parts, and for the connection of additional power from external suppliers.
- Enter into and manage contracts with third-party organizations for the supply of electricity, steam, water, and other energy types, controlling their proper execution.
System Operation, Maintenance, and Reliability
- Ensure the reliable, economical, and safe operation of all power-using installations and power equipment across the facility.
- Conduct inspections of communication, alarm, accounting, control, protection, and automation systems.
- Organize and oversee the timely presentation of boilers and pressure vessels to relevant state technical supervision bodies.
- Develop and implement measures to increase the efficiency and reliability of power plants, preventing accidents and ensuring safe working conditions during operation.
- Organize the storage, accounting, and movement of energy equipment, and conduct detailed analysis of electricity and fuel consumption, technical and economic indicators, and accident causes.
Projects, Modernization, and Compliance
- Participate in the development of future energy sector plans, including proposals for the reconstruction and technical re-equipment of energy supply systems.
- Review and provide conclusions on developed projects, and participate in the testing and acceptance of new power plants and networks for commercial operation.
- Ensure compliance with all environmental legislation requirements and organize work for the protection of underground structures and communications.
- Ensure all work adheres to the requirements and norms of labor protection, fire and industrial safety.
Quality Management and Continuous Improvement
- Develop and improve Quality Management System (QMS) documents within the scope of competence, in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety).
- Introduce rationalization of workplaces and implement new, advanced methods for the repair and operation of power equipment.
Required Knowledge and Skills
The successful candidate must possess a deep understanding of:
- Power Systems: Comprehensive knowledge of the organization of energy support for manufacturing, including the technical characteristics, design features, and operating modes of power equipment and power-using installations.
- Preventive Maintenance: Expertise in the Unified system of preventive maintenance and rational operation of equipment.
- Energy Management: Detailed understanding of the procedure for developing fuel and energy resource consumption rates and methods for increasing their efficient use.
- Compliance: Familiarity with relevant regulatory legal acts, environmental legislation, and the foundational requirements of ISO 9001 and ISO 45001.
- Contract Management: Knowledge of the procedure for concluding and controlling contracts with third-party energy suppliers.
- Technical Documentation: Ability to develop and execute technical documentation, including instructions, provisions, and guidelines.
- Safety: Thorough knowledge of requirements and norms of labor protection, fire, and industrial safety.
