The Role: Entrepreneurial Project Leader

This is a unique, strategic, and highly entrepreneurial opportunity for a seasoned Project Manager or Department Head in the field of underground works.

You will be tasked with spearheading a strategic expansion into German-speaking Switzerland by establishing and leading a new department within a local subsidiary. This is a chance to leverage your technical expertise and managerial experience to build a team and grow the business unit from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

You will take on a combined leadership and technical delivery role, focusing on:

1. Business & Department Development:

Conduct active market prospecting and prepare compelling offers for underground works.
Enrich the business portfolio with projects and expertise, focusing on new tunnels and the renovation of existing structures.
Develop and manage a team of specialist engineers, fostering their growth and capabilities.
Create and manage a portfolio of projects in underground works (tunnels, galleries, and caverns).

2. Technical Leadership & Project Management:

Manage complex projects within the field of underground construction.
Ensure the consolidation and application of the group's long-standing skills and expertise in underground works.
Ensure effective management of deadlines and budgets across all projects.
Collaborate closely with the existing underground works team based in French-speaking Switzerland.

Candidate Profile

Education: Higher education qualification in Civil Engineering.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of proven experience in:
Market Knowledge: Very good knowledge of the construction market in German-speaking Switzerland.
Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of relevant industry standards and directives (e.g., SIA, CFF, and OFROU).
IT Skills: Proficiency in the Office 365 environment, MS Project, and numerical calculation tools for tunnels.

Underground works (tunnels, galleries, caverns).
Team and department management.
Project management.

Competencies:

Exceptional Leadership and communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and a profound sense of responsibility.

Language Skills: Fluency in German is essential, with a good working knowledge of French. Work
