Job Summary:
The Data Scientist will be responsible for extracting, analyzing, and interpreting complex healthcare data to develop actionable insights and predictive models. This individual will apply their expertise in machine learning, statistical analysis, and data visualization to address critical challenges in the healthcare domain. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of healthcare data, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex findings to diverse stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis & Modelling:
- Develop and implement machine learning models for predictive analytics, risk stratification, and patient outcome prediction.
- Perform statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, and correlations within healthcare data.
- Extract, clean, and transform large datasets from various sources, including electronic health records (EHRs), medical imaging, and clinical trials.
- Design and implement data visualization dashboards to communicate key findings and insights.
- Evaluate and optimize the performance of machine learning models.
- Implement and maintain data pipelines.
- Healthcare Domain Expertise:
- Collaborate with clinicians, researchers, and other stakeholders to understand healthcare challenges and identify opportunities for data-driven solutions.
- Apply knowledge of healthcare data standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
- Contribute to the development of data-driven clinical decision support systems.
- Research and evaluate emerging trends in healthcare analytics and machine learning.
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Communicate complex analytical findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Present data-driven insights and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data science solutions.
- Document all work performed.
- Research and Development:
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in data science and machine learning.
- Explore and evaluate new data sources and analytical tools.
- Contribute to the development of intellectual property and publications.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience as a Data Scientist, preferably in the healthcare industry.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
- Experience with machine learning libraries and frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Strong knowledge of statistical analysis and data mining techniques.
- Experience with database management and SQL.
- Familiarity with healthcare data standards and terminologies (e.g., ICD-10, SNOMED CT).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
