About the Client:
Our client is a prominent Engineering Services company in Qatar, specializing in the design and delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects. They are committed to excellence, innovation, and sustainable development, and are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join their team and contribute to the successful execution of railway and road infrastructure projects.
Job Summary:
The Senior Structural Engineer will be responsible for providing expert structural engineering design, analysis, and supervision for railway and road infrastructure projects in Qatar. This individual will leverage their extensive experience to lead design teams, ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations, and deliver high-quality engineering solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of structural engineering principles, extensive experience in railway and road infrastructure, and excellent communication skills in both Arabic and English.
Responsibilities:
- Structural Design & Analysis:
- Lead the structural design and analysis of bridges, tunnels, retaining walls, viaducts, and other related structures for railway and road projects.
- Perform detailed structural calculations using relevant software (e.g., SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, MIDAS Civil).
- Develop detailed structural drawings and specifications.
- Conduct structural assessments and evaluations of existing infrastructure.
- Ensure designs comply with local regulations (Qatar Construction Specifications, QCS) and international standards (e.g., AASHTO, Eurocodes).
- Project Management & Supervision:
- Manage and supervise structural design teams.
- Coordinate with other disciplines (civil, geotechnical, architectural) to ensure seamless project integration.
- Review and approve shop drawings and material submittals.
- Conduct site inspections and monitor construction progress.
- Resolve technical issues and provide on-site support.
- Ensure that projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality.
- Technical Leadership & Mentorship:
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Lead code reviews and ensure code quality.
- Contribute to the development of design standards and procedures.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools.
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams in both Arabic and English.
- Prepare and present technical reports and presentations.
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical updates.
- Ensure that all documentation is completed to the required standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in structural engineering, with a proven track record in railway and road infrastructure projects.
- Extensive experience in the design and analysis of bridges, tunnels, and related structures.
- Strong knowledge of relevant design codes and standards (QCS, AASHTO, Eurocodes).
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, MIDAS Civil).
- Experience with BIM workflows.
- Fluent in both Arabic and English (written and spoken).
- Valid Qatar Driving License.
- Valid Qatari Engineering Society membership.
